Barbara McLean O'Neil
I am a lifelong writer and teacher. I find writing to be a powerful vehicle for personal expression and creativity. I am passionate about guiding others on their path as writers. My own writing practice is central to my life. I was recently honored as Writer in Residence at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House in Taos, New Mexico.
Writing in a supportive environment, structured by timed writing and prompts to stir the imagination, writers are often amazed to see what emerges onto the page. This practice can lay the groundwork for any kind of writing: memoir, creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry. Writers are our teachers. By reading books by published authors and listening deeply to the writing of fellow students, our own work becomes richer.
