Prompt: What I Noticed
The retreat exceeded my expectations. I found the biggest surprise within myself. My fears of being unable to write anything were put to rest. I noticed that the more I practiced, the easier it became. I loved being with a group of writers, writing and sharing. I loved the optional writing and reading groups in the afternoon and took advantage of every one. I loved the morning meditation. It helped deepen my writing practice as did the silence. The walks were great as they were an opportunity to bond with fellow writers. The last day was especially powerful for me. -T.Y. Concord, MA
I returned home a different writer from when I left. I felt hungry to write, and excited to read what I wrote. Being in the company of other writers for such an extended time, allowed me to relax into the idea of "practice." The silence enabled me to hear the hum of other writers at work. Since the retreat, I have introduced myself as "a writer" and it feels true.

I noticed that I feel more centered. I noticed that I actually liked some of the things I wrote.
I noticed that I can apply this timed practice to many aspects of my life.
I noticed I can do something rather than just talk about it.
I noticed that I can share this practice easily with others.
I noticed that I have a format now to work within that is simple and productive. -M.W. Longmont, CO
I loved diving into writing again and discovering how much material is waiting to be re-discovered and fashioned into words. I loved discovering how important it is to share one's work when assured of a non-critical audience. I noticed how the unique surroundings of Mabel Dodge contributed to the development of our "circle." There were echoes of her salons and gatherings that energized our own. The food was stupendous. It was an excellent experience. Thank you. -P.F. Orford, NH
